What we collect and why
- Audit requests. When you request a free AI visibility audit we collect your name, business name, website and email address, to produce and deliver your audit. Lawful basis: taking steps at your request prior to a contract.
- Audit data. Audits are compiled from publicly available information: your website, public business listings, and the responses public AI engines give to questions about your trade and town. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
- Business outreach. We contact UK businesses at work addresses about our services, using publicly available business contact details. Lawful basis: legitimate interests in business-to-business marketing. Every message includes a working opt-out, honoured promptly and permanently.
- Web chat. If you use the chat on this site, your messages and any contact details you share in them are handled by our chat provider, Crisp IM SARL (France, EU-hosted), acting as our processor, so we can answer you. Lawful basis: legitimate interests in responding to enquiries you start.
- Customers. If you subscribe, we process the data needed to run the service and bill you. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store card details. Our systems run on Google Workspace and UK-hosted infrastructure.
What we do not do
We never sell personal data. We do not send consumer marketing. This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies; the only cookies are the functional ones our chat widget needs to keep a conversation going between pages. We count visits with privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics that collect no personal data.
Retention
Prospect data is kept for up to 24 months, then deleted unless you become a customer. Customer records are kept for 6 years after the relationship ends, as required for tax and legal purposes. Suppression records (opt-outs) are kept indefinitely so we never contact you again.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may request access, correction, deletion or restriction of your personal data, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interests, by emailing hello@namedropped.co.uk. You may also complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
